Kuala Lumpur City FC made the most of their home advantage by defeating Melaka FC 2–1 in the 2025/2026 Super League match at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium last night.
The result moved The City Boys up to second place in the Super League standings with 39 points, while Melaka FC remained second from the bottom with 11 points. Playing in rainy conditions, the home side showed organized play as they searched for the opening goal. Their effort paid off when Kamal Azizi Mohd Zabri scored in the 40th minute to give KL City the lead.
Melaka FC refused to give up and kept pushing for an equalizer in the second half. Their persistence paid off when Kwangil Pak finished a pass from Rashid Che Halim in the 86th minute to level the score. However, the equalizer did not dampen the spirit of the players coached by Risto Vidaković. In stoppage time, Muhammad Safawi Rasid fired a powerful shot to restore KL City’s lead, sealing a 2–1 victory.Meanwhile, in another match at the Sarawak State Stadium, Kuching City FC recorded an impressive 2–0 win over Sabah FC.
The home team did not take long to open the scoring when their import striker João Pedro struck as early as the 5th minute to give Kuching City the advantage. Kuching City maintained their attacking momentum and doubled their lead in the 26th minute through Petrus Shitembi, who calmly finished the chance to make it 2–0. In Seremban, Negeri Sembilan FC were held to a 3–3 draw by Penang FC at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium.
NSFC controlled much of the game and created several attempts on goal, but Penang FC struck first through Dylan Christopher Charles Wenzel-Halls in the 22nd minute.NSFC responded quickly when Jovan Motika scored with a long-range effort in the 29th minute, beating Penang goalkeeper Mohamad Ramdhan Ab Hamid to level the score. Penang FC regained the lead through Tchetche Kipre in the 78th minute. However, Mio Tsuneyasu capitalized on a scramble in front of goal four minutes later to equalize.
Joseph Esso then put the home side ahead in the 88th minute.
But in dramatic fashion, Penang FC were awarded a late penalty which was converted by Stefano Brundo, denying NSFC the victory.
