KUALA LUMPUR, September 25 2026, The Election Commission (EC) will hold a special meeting on Oct 7 to discuss preparations for the 16th Melaka State Election.
EC secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus said the meeting follows the dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly last Wednesday.
He said the meeting, to be chaired by EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun, will discuss key matters including the election writ, nomination day, polling day, the electoral roll to be used and other preparations.
“A press conference will be held immediately after the meeting,” he said in a statement today.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh announced the dissolution of the State Assembly last Tuesday, effective Wednesday, after obtaining the consent of Melaka Governor Tun Mohd Ali Rustam.
