IPOH — The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, has granted permission for youth to be given the honour of delivering Friday sermons at mosques across the state tomorrow in conjunction with the celebration of National Youth Day on May 15.
The President of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Custom Council (MAIPk), Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, said Sultan Nazrin said this to appreciate and recognise the important role of youth in this country.
He said Sultan Nazrin would also deliver a Friday sermon in Perak tomorrow on the theme of youth with the title “Youth: The Driving Force of National Progress”.
“The Perak State Youth and Sports Department has submitted 94 names of youth leaders who have been approved by the Sultan of Perak to deliver sermons at mosques and suraus in Perak on Friday, May 8, 2026,” he said in a statement today.
Youth leaders who will be involved in reciting the Friday sermon tomorrow include those from the Malaysian Islamic Youth Force (ABIM), District Youth Council, Rakan Muda Club and youth clubs.
