Agricommodity Squad to Drive New Growth in Malaysia’s Agricommodity Sector- Datuk Seri Dr. Zahid Hamidi

BANGI, May 8 — Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed confidence that the newly launched Agricommodity Squad programme will help create a new wave of growth in Malaysia’s agricommodity sector while attracting greater youth participation yesterday. Speaking at the launch of the Agricommodity Squad Programme organised by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities at Dewan Sawit, Malaysian Palm Oil Board in Bangi, Zahid said the enthusiastic response from university students and young participants reflected growing interest among the younger generation in the sector. He said the agricommodity industry today must evolve in line with technology, innovation, mechanisation and the development of high-value industries to create broader opportunities for youths. According to him, strengthening Agricultural TVET remains crucial in producing a new generation equipped with the skills and expertise needed to elevate the sector to a more competitive level. “I believe the Agricommodity Squad launched today can serve as a bridge to change public perception towards agriculture and commodity industries, while encouraging more youths to explore a sector that remains one of the country’s key economic strengths,” he said. Zahid also congratulated the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities for spearheading the initiative, adding that efforts to strengthen the agricommodity sector will continue to ensure more young people view it as a promising and respected career path for the future. -- MINUTESMY -- SOURCES: FB ZAHID HAMIDI
