PUTRAJAYA, July 9 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday called on emerging leaders to navigate the challenges of leading diverse societies with wisdom, patience and sound judgement while remaining committed to core values and moral principles. Speaking after meeting 22 young leaders from 12 countries participating in the AZM Global Leaders Kuala Lumpur Summit 2026 in Putrajaya, Anwar said effective leadership in culturally diverse communities requires the ability to unite people through understanding and thoughtful decision-making. He stressed that leaders must continue learning and adapting to new approaches in an increasingly complex world without neglecting fundamental principles such as faith, values and ethics. Anwar also expressed his appreciation to the founder of the initiative, Muna AbuSulayman, for bringing together promising young leaders from different countries to foster international collaboration and mutual understanding. He said the programme provides an important platform for building early cross-border networks among future leaders, which could contribute to the common good and strengthen international cooperation in the years ahead. The Prime Minister also expressed hope that Muna AbuSulayman and the participants would be given the strength and perseverance to continue advancing the initiative and nurturing a new generation of principled global leaders. -- MINUTESMY
