The move aims to ensure citizens can complete applications and transactions more smoothly, particularly those related to vehicle fuel subsidy assistance and ownership matters under the BUDI MADANI initiative. Under the expanded services, the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN) will assist eligible applicants, including pickup truck and jeep owners, in applying for additional fuel allocations of up to 100 litres. Meanwhile, the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ), including state offices and UTC branches, will facilitate key services such as vehicle ownership transfers, road tax renewals, and other related transactions. BUDI MADANI receives more than 18,000 applications for additional diesel quotas

PETALING JAYA: The official BUDI MADANI portal has received more than 18,000 applications for an additional 100 litres of subsidised diesel quota per month from eligible owners of diesel pickup and jeep vehicles as of 10pm last night. Finance Minister II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said that the initial implementation of BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel), which entered its second day, went smoothly without any technical problems. He said that so far, more than 40,000 transactions have been recorded involving users who have taken advantage of the initiative since it was implemented on Saturday. He said this to reporters after reviewing the initial implementation of BUDI Diesel at the Petronas NKVE Petrol Station towards Damansara. Also present was the Secretary-General of the Treasury, Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican. Amir Hamzah said that applications for additional quotas can be made online through the official BUDI MADANI portal, while individuals who need assistance can seek the services of officers at the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) offices, the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) as well as counters provided by several oil companies. He said the government also provides facilities to transfer subsidy quotas to actual users if the registered owner of the vehicle is different from the individual using the vehicle. "For quota transfers, it can be applied for through the same portal. We will ensure that the quota is transferred to the actual user," he said. According to him, after the transfer is made, verification at the petrol station will be carried out through the user's identity card number linked to the quota in question. "The quota will be assigned to the new user's identity card number. So when used at a petrol station, the system will identify that the quota has been transferred." "However, the total quota remains based on vehicles and it can only be used by designated individuals," he said. He said that so far, no technical issues have been reported involving the system or petrol station operators, while the government will continue to focus on ensuring that the implementation of the initiative runs smoothly by July 1. The initial implementation of BUDI Diesel began on Saturday in the Peninsular Malaysia with consumers enjoying subsidized diesel at a price of RM2.15 per litre for a flexible quota of up to 200 litres, before the rate is adjusted to RM2.10 per litre starting this Wednesday. -- BERRNAMA

Ministers Hail Strategic Gains Of PM Anwar’s Russia, Turkmenistan Visits

KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's official visits to Russia and Turkmenistan have been described as a significant step in strengthening Malaysia's international relations and unlocking strategic opportunities that will benefit the country and its people. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said one of the key outcomes was Russia's commitment to provide long-term oil supplies to Malaysia for up to 20 years, a move expected to enhance the country's energy security and economic stability. “The MADANI Government's strategy of diversifying energy sources is crucial to ensuring sufficient supply and sustaining the BUDI MADANI RON95 programme while maintaining the subsidised RON95 petrol price at RM1.99 per litre. “All Malaysians will benefit from this achievement by the Prime Minister,” he told Bernama. Nga, who is also the Teluk Intan MP, said Anwar's success in securing Turkmenistan's confidence in appointing Petronas as operator of one of the world's largest gas fields was another breakthrough. “This development could further strengthen Petronas' global standing. As a Fortune Global 500 company currently ranked 139th, it has the potential to move closer to the top 100 if this opportunity is managed effectively,” Nga said. Meanwhile, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the Prime Minister's visits to Kazan and Turkmenistan were important in deepening strategic cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, energy and human capital development. “We are proud that, through stronger bilateral ties, Petronas has been entrusted to operate one of the world's largest gas fields in Turkmenistan. “This not only demonstrates the ability of Malaysian companies to compete and lead globally, but also elevates Malaysia's standing as a respected player in the international energy sector,” he said. The Sungai Buloh MP said the development was expected to generate economic benefits for Malaysia while creating opportunities for collaboration in technology, skills development and high-skilled workforce training. Anwar's two-day working visit to Kazan marked a significant milestone in Malaysia-Russia relations, with both countries agreeing to strengthen cooperation in energy security, trade, investment, tourism and technology. A key outcome of the visit was Russia's commitment to ensuring long-term supplies of petrol, oil and gas to Malaysia. Anwar said the arrangement would bolster the country's energy security through stable multi-year agreements rather than annual or seasonal renewals. Following his visit to Kazan in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, Anwar travelled to Turkmenistan, where agreements reached with the government paved the way for Petronas to participate in the development of a major gas field in the country, which possesses some of the world's largest natural gas reserves.
