Thunderstorm warning, heavy rain in eight states until 5pm this evening

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in eight states until 5pm this evening. MetMalaysia in a statement today announced that the bad weather is expected to hit Perlis, Kedah (including Langkawi) as well as several districts in Perak, namely Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim. The same warning also affects Pahang, including Cameron Highlands and Bentong, as well as Hulu Selangor in Selangor. In Johor, the areas expected to be affected are Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru. Meanwhile, in Sabah, the affected areas are the Interior covering Keningau and Tambunan), as well as the West Coast, Tawau, Kinabatangan in Sandakan and Kudat.
