KUALA LUMPUR, Jun 10 -- The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has launched Ops Soga XI nationwide to combat illegal gambling activities which are expected to increase in conjunction with the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will take place tomorrow until July 19. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M Kumar said the integrated operation involved all state contingents.    "This operation focuses on monitoring and taking action against online gambling and betting syndicates, as well as platforms or websites that carry out online gambling and betting activities and promotions through social media accounts." "This operation also focuses on physical gambling and betting activities involving illegal gambling and betting premises, individuals who bet, betting agents and premises or individuals who promote physical gambling and betting," he said in a statement here today. Kumar said the operation was also joined by various enforcement and regulatory agencies, including the Communications and Multimedia Commission and Bank Negara, to identify and block platforms, websites and transactions used by illegal gambling and betting syndicates. He advised the public not to be involved in any form of illegal gambling and betting, whether as a player, bettor, agent, bookmaker or organiser. "Strict action will be taken in accordance with relevant legal provisions including the Open Gambling Houses Act 1953, the Betting Act 1953, the Penal Code and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA)," he said. -- BERNAMA

PDRM begins early preparations to face Johor state election – Saifuddin Nasution

KUALA LUMPUR: The Johor Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has begun various early preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the 16th Johor State Election (PRN). Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this includes the assignment of personnel, security aspects, logistics and coordination between agencies. He said early preparation was very important, to enable all security-related plans to be carefully arranged, and to allow every operational requirement to be identified in advance. "What is important is that the people can carry out their responsibilities comfortably and confidently, while a healthy democratic atmosphere continues to be maintained." "God willing, with careful preparations and the cooperation of all parties, the Johor state election will be carried out smoothly, peacefully and harmoniously for the benefit of the people and the state of Johor," he said in a Facebook post today. Earlier, Saifuddin Nasution stopped by the Batu Pahat District Police Headquarters to hear a briefing regarding the preparations and level of preparedness of the security forces in facing the Johor state election. Yesterday, the Election Commission (EC) announced that a special meeting for the 16th Johor state election will be held on June 12, to discuss important dates for the Johor state election such as the date of the election writ, nomination day, polling day, the electoral roll that will be used and other preparations for the election. Deputy IGP Calls for Stronger Integrity to Uphold Excellence in Police Force

KUANTAN, June 5 -- Strengthening integrity remains a fundamental pillar that must be reinforced among all personnel of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to ensure excellence in service delivery, while effective supervision by senior officers must be aligned with established directives and actions. This was emphasised by Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay during a gathering and address with PDRM personnel from the Pahang contingent at Dewan Tun Razak here on Friday. Upon arrival, Tan Sri Ayob Khan was welcomed by Pahang Police Chief Dato’ Sri Yahaya Othman before attending a courtesy visit session and signing the visitors’ book. In his address, Tan Sri Ayob Khan urged all members of the police force to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and a strong sense of accountability, while remaining steadfast in upholding religious values and high moral principles. Police Probe Viral Upskirt Recording Incident at Subang Jaya Shopping Premises

SUBANG JAYA, March 31 — Police have launched an investigation following a viral video allegedly showing a male suspect recording or attempting to take photos beneath a customer’s skirt at a shopping premises in Subang Jaya on Saturday. The Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) confirmed that a report was lodged on March 29 at 1.16pm regarding the incident, said Subang Jaya OCPD Wan Azlan Wan Mamat in a press statement. Initial investigations revealed that the video had been circulated on social media platforms, including Facebook under the name “Yixin Siew” and Instagram account “yixin_0111”. Authorities believe the suspect was seen holding a mobile phone and engaging in inappropriate behaviour targeting a female shopper inside the premises. Police said investigations are actively underway to identify and locate both the suspect and the victim involved in the case. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. The public is advised not to spread or share any videos or recordings that may affect the dignity of the victim or interfere with police investigations. Instead, any information related to the incident should be channelled to the police to assist in the investigation. IPK Negeri Sembilan SEREMBAN, March 26 (Bernama) -- A total of 568 accident cases with three deaths were recorded in Negeri Sembilan through Ops Selamat 26 for the period from March 19 to 24, said Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad. Sabotaging National Stability: Statement To Be Taken From 14 More Individuals

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will call 14 more individuals to record their statements in the investigation of sabotaging national stability involving influential individuals and foreign media. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said police have completed the list of the individuals concerned. According to him, so far, a total of 14 individuals had their statements recorded and police are currently looking into the statements besides continuing further investigations. "We are still studying and conducting other investigations and we may take the statements of several more individuals and from there we will conclude and we will submit to the Attorney General (AG). "I understand that there are 14 more people whose statements we will take and God willing, if everything is completed, we will send them to the AG," he said in a press conference at Bukit Aman police headquarters, here today. Commenting on the question of whether Toh Puan Nai'mah Khalid is included in the list, he refused to confirm the matter for now. "I do not want to detail any individuals. The investigation is still ongoing, let us do it and when it is finished, we will call for investigation," he explained. In a separate development, Mohd Khalid announced that police have begun an investigation into international news portal, Bloomberg, regarding an article on Tan Sri Azam Baki's share ownership and the issue of corporate manipulation. According to him, the investigation team has already visited the portal's office located at Petronas Towers to meet with several staff for initial documentation purposes. He said the investigation found that the main individuals who are directly related to the writing are based abroad. "For further action we will work through G2G (government-to-government) or agency-to-agency to obtain cooperation from the relevant parties," he said.
