KUALA LUMPUR,10 APRIL — Communications Minister Gobind Singh Deo today highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to advancing its digital transformation agenda following a courtesy call from Niklas Wiberg, Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia, and Rafael Daerr, Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Malaysia. In a statement, Gobind said the meeting underscored the strong and longstanding ties Malaysia shares with Sweden and the EU, with discussions focusing on key areas of mutual interest including the rollout of 5G infrastructure and Malaysia’s growing role in the region’s artificial intelligence (AI) landscape. “We had a productive exchange on Malaysia’s progress in digital development, particularly in accelerating 5G deployment and positioning the country as a regional leader in AI,” he said.
