PRN: PM Anwar expected to launch Johor PH machinery tomorrow night

JOHOR BAHRU, June 5 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman, is scheduled to launch the state PH machinery for the 16th Johor State Election (PRN) tomorrow night. Johor PKR Vice Chairman, Jimmy Puah Wee Tse, through a post on Facebook today, said that the launch was scheduled to take place at the Chinese High School Hall, Batu Pahat at 8pm. "Launching of the Johor PH PRN machinery. ' We are ready '," the post said. PH Deputy Chairman and DAP Secretary-General, Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Amanah President, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu are also expected to be present at the launch. Previously, Johor PH announced that it would contest all 56 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in this PRN. In the 2022 Johor state election, BN won 40 state seats, PH (12), Perikatan Nasional (three) and MUDA (one). The Johor State Assembly was dissolved on June 1 after receiving the consent of the Regent Sultan of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail. -- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday reaffirmed the MADANI Government's commitment to supporting high-quality investments that strengthen Malaysia's position in the global semiconductor industry and create more high-skilled employment opportunities for Malaysians. Speaking after receiving a courtesy visit from Dr. Michael Mertin, Chief Executive Officer of AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik Aktiengesellschaft (AT&S), and the company's delegation, Anwar highlighted Malaysia's growing importance as a strategic hub for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. AT&S is recognised as one of the world's leading producers of high-value integrated circuit (IC) substrates and printed circuit boards, while also developing advanced connectivity technologies that support key sectors including mobile communications, automotive, aerospace, medical technology, industrial applications and high-performance computing for artificial intelligence (AI). During the meeting, discussions focused on the progress of AT&S Malaysia's operations in Kulim, Kedah, where the company currently employs approximately 2,700 workers. Malaysia has emerged as one of AT&S' major production centres alongside Austria, China and India, reflecting the company's continued confidence in the country's investment environment and industrial capabilities. Anwar noted that the presence and expansion of global technology players such as AT&S underscore Malaysia's competitiveness within the international semiconductor value chain. PM Anwar Calls for Greater Religious Harmony, Rejects Racist Sentiments

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to continue strengthening unity, mutual respect and harmony among the country’s diverse races and religions in line with the MADANI vision. Speaking at the MADANI Harmony Discourse held in conjunction with the Wesak Day celebration, Anwar stressed the importance of understanding, humanity and peaceful coexistence in maintaining national stability and progress. He said Malaysia was founded on the spirit of cooperation and moderation under the leadership of the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, where diversity was embraced as a core foundation of the nation since independence. Anwar noted that while Islam remains the religion of the Federation and Malays and Bumiputera form the majority population, the country was built on mutual respect and appreciation for the diversity of races and faiths. He added that the MADANI concept reinforces values such as courtesy, ethics and humanity as key pillars of nation-building.
