KUALA LUMPUR: The People's Justice Party (PKR) remains strong after 27 years of facing various challenges in the country's political arena since it was founded on April 4, 1999. PKR Information Chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that despite facing various obstacles, the party remained steadfast as a result of its integrity of principles and the strength of its struggle that never faded. "JUSTICE (PKR) was born from the spirit of reform, in an effort to uphold justice, fight injustice, defend the people's voice and build a Malaysia that is more just, democratic and with integrity. "This journey has not been easy. We have gone through various tests, challenges and twists and turns. Thanks to the integrity of principles and the strength of struggle, KEADILAN continues to stand, continues to advance, and continues to be a source of hope for the people," he said in a post on his Facebook page in conjunction with the party's 27th anniversary. Fahmi, who is also the Minister of Communications, said the anniversary celebration was a reminder that the reform agenda still needed to be continued for the sake of the country's future. "The spirit of reform is still alive, and our struggle is still not over. Happy 27th anniversary of JUSTICE. May the banner of reform continue to fly," he said.

KESUMA Launches National Dialogue Platform Ahead of Workers’ Day – YB Ramanan

Kuala Lumpur, April 3, 2026 — Deputy Minister of Human Resources, YB Ramanan, today officially inaugurated the Talk and Share Programme: Traversing May 1, 2026 – KESUMA Workers of the Nation, marking a key step in the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s employment ecosystem ahead of this year’s National Workers’ Day celebration. Speaking at the launch, YB Ramanan described the programme as a strategic platform designed to unite government representatives, employers, and employees in a constructive dialogue space. He emphasized that such engagement is crucial to ensure that policies and initiatives are grounded in current realities and reflect the actual needs of stakeholders across the nation’s labor landscape. “Workers are the backbone of our economic stability and growth. Their welfare must be continuously safeguarded through inclusive policies, comprehensive social protection, and balanced, trust-based corporate relationships,” he said. The initiative aligns with the aspirations of MADANI Malaysia, with the government reaffirming its commitment to sustainable and meaningful economic growth. This includes a strong focus on improving job quality, ensuring worker welfare, and creating fair opportunities for all segments of the workforce. YB Ramanan also highlighted several ongoing and upcoming initiatives led by the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA). Among them is the enforcement of the Gig Workers Act 2025, aimed at protecting more than 1.6 million gig workers nationwide. Additionally, the development of the PERKESO Traveler Scheme seeks to enhance protection for cross-border workers, while continued efforts are being made to strengthen support systems for women in the workforce, particularly in maternity protection. He expressed hope that the May 1 Monitoring Programme would serve as a catalyst for stronger collaboration among all parties involved. “This initiative is not just a programme, but a platform to build mutual understanding and cooperation. Together, we can shape a more resilient, inclusive, and competitive future for Malaysia’s workforce,” he added.

Human Resources Ministry Marks 100 Days, Launches Initiatives to Empower Over Half a Million Malaysians- YB Ramanan

KUALA LUMPUR — It has been 100 days since the appointment of Minister of Human Resources, who has focused on implementing policies with direct benefits for the people. Key priorities include strengthening social protections, skills development, and safeguarding employee welfare. The ministry is finalizing the Traveler Scheme, which will protect over 400,000 Malaysians commuting to Singapore, while also exploring expanded social protection for maternity mothers to bolster the nation’s social safety net. Among the major initiatives launched is Scheme Lindung 24/7 under PERKESO, which will cover nearly 10 million formal workers, ensuring protection regardless of working hours. Other programs include free occupational safety and health training for 10,000 tourism workers as part of the Year of Visiting Malaysia 2026, the Upskilling and Reskilling program for 90,000 citizens, and 5,000 job placements for Malaysian Armed Forces veterans through partnerships between PERKESO, JHEV, and PERHEBAT. The minister also highlighted government support for the gig economy, including RM100 million allocated for gig worker skills training. The VETRI MADANI 2026 Programme has been introduced to provide technical, AI, and engineering skills to the B40 community, enhancing job opportunities and living standards.
