Datuk Seri Ramanan Receives Courtesy Visit From Indonesian Minister on Migrant Worker Cooperation

KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 — Deputy Minister of Human Resources Ramanan Ramakrishnan yesterday received a courtesy visit from Indonesian Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers Mukhtarudin and his delegation at the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA). The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia, particularly in the management, protection, and workforce development involving Indonesian workers in Malaysia. Ramanan said the close ties between the two neighbouring countries are important in supporting sustainable economic growth while enhancing the welfare and wellbeing of workers. He noted that Malaysia and Indonesia continue to maintain a strong bilateral relationship as strategic partners at both regional and international levels. According to him, the long-standing cooperation between the two countries spans multiple sectors including trade, investment, security, workforce development, and people-to-people relations.
