YB Ramanan Attends Launch of Strategic Studies Books, Calls for Forward-Thinking Approaches

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 APRIL -- Member of Parliament Ramanan Ramakrishnan attended the launch of three strategic studies books by the International Institute of Future Studies (IIFS) yesterday, describing the initiative as an important step in shaping future discourse for the Muslim world. The institute, established under the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), aims to serve as a catalyst for developing forward-looking ideas and strategic thinking. The launch ceremony was officiated by Higher Education Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir, representing Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Ramanan noted that the concept of “Post-Normal Time,” introduced by Ziauddin Sardar, underscores the growing uncertainty in today’s world and highlights the need for bold, innovative thinking beyond conventional frameworks in policymaking and knowledge development. Also present at the event were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Zulkifli Hasan, Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and the IIUM community. He added that the launch was not merely about the publication of strategic studies, but a broader call to build the future through knowledge, critical thinking, and intellectual courage. --Minutes MY / Igneseous Noris --Photo: FB Ramanan
