KUALA LUMPUR, April 2, 2026 — TikTok has expanded its digital literacy efforts in Malaysia with the launch of #ThinkTwice Training, moving beyond awareness campaigns into hands-on community engagement aimed at strengthening online safety.
The new initiative builds on the success of TikTok’s #ThinkTwice campaign, which has garnered nearly 400 million views on educational content and attracted more than 1.4 million visits to its multilingual knowledge hub nationwide.
Designed as a train-the-trainer programme, #ThinkTwice Training equips community leaders—including parents, content creators, educators, and civil society groups—with practical skills to navigate online safety challenges. The workshops form part of TikTok’s broader strategy to foster a more informed and responsible digital ecosystem.
To mark its launch, TikTok partnered with Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia and Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia, both of which contributed insights on raising digitally responsible youth. The company plans to roll out similar workshops with communities across Malaysia throughout the year.
Firdaus Fadzil, TikTok’s Head of Public Policy for Malaysia, said the initiative is designed to help parents keep pace with rapidly evolving technology. He highlighted that TikTok’s teen accounts come with more than 50 default privacy and safety settings, allowing parents to customise controls through features such as Family Pairing.
Meanwhile, Mediha Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the Content Forum, stressed that digital literacy is essential in today’s world, noting that equipping parents with the right tools can help raise resilient and responsible teenagers capable of navigating both online and offline environments.
Echoing this view, Tunku Munawirah Putra, Honorary Secretary of PAGE, said digital participation plays a key role in personal development and economic opportunities. She welcomed TikTok’s initiative in providing practical tools that simplify parental supervision while encouraging safe creative expression among teens.
A key feature of the training includes interactive safety simulations, where participants are guided through real-life scenarios using TikTok’s built-in tools such as Screen Time Limits, Private Account settings, Restricted Mode, and Creator Care Mode.
The workshops also offer step-by-step guidance for parents on linking their accounts with their children’s accounts, ensuring they can confidently apply safety measures in everyday use.
The #ThinkTwice Training programme underscores TikTok’s continued push to enhance digital literacy and online safety awareness in Malaysia, particularly among families navigating an increasingly complex digital landscape.
