KUALA LUMPUR — Traffic conditions from the Klang Valley heading towards the East Coast began to be congested this morning as people began to return to their hometowns to celebrate Aidilfitri.
A spokesman for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the congestion occurred from Gombak to Genting Sempah and from Bukit Tinggi to Lentang.
Traffic flow heading north and south was still smooth and congestion only occurred from Bandar Baharu to Jawi following a broken down lorry.
“LLM expects traffic flow to start increasing from this afternoon following the 50 per cent toll discount from midnight last night until 11.59pm tomorrow,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
The public is urged to comply with the set speed limit and always monitor the safe distance between their vehicles throughout the journey.
Users are also encouraged to plan their journeys by referring to the travel time schedule (TTA) via the MyPLUS-TTA application, in addition to obtaining the latest traffic information via the toll-free PLUSLine 1-800-88-0000 and the X @plustrafik website or the LLM line 1-800-88-7752 and the X @llmtrafik website.
