KUALA LUMPUR, March 6, 2026 — UMNO party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced that United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) is opening its doors widely to former members who were previously expelled or suspended, inviting them to return and reunite with the party.
In a statement issued on Friday in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, Zahid said the period of reflection and forgiveness presents an ideal opportunity to rebuild unity within the party.
He emphasized that the strength of a political party is not determined solely by its organizational structure but also by the support, solidarity, and collective commitment of its members at all levels.
“UMNO is opening the doors of the ‘Rumah Bangsa’ to any former member who wishes to return, including those who were expelled or suspended, as well as individuals who want to join and contribute to the party’s struggle,” he said.
Zahid added that in the spirit of Ramadan, past differences and mistakes would be fully forgiven to allow the party to begin a new chapter and strengthen the larger UMNO family.
To facilitate the process, a special committee known as the Rumah Bangsa Committee, chaired by Mohamed Khaled Nordin, will coordinate the implementation according to UMNO’s constitution.
Zahid expressed hope that the initiative would be blessed and become a starting point for greater unity within the party as it continues its struggle for religion, race, and the nation, while ensuring a better future for the people and the country.
