KOTA BHARU — The UMNO Women’s Movement will create a special committee to examine in detail the implementation of the Rumah Bangsa initiative at the party wing level.
Wanita UMNO Movement chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the committee aims to coordinate the unification initiative to open up space for former members to rejoin the party.
“We will follow what is being implemented by UMNO as the parent body. When all applications (to rejoin the party) are received, we will refer this matter to the central committee led by Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin,” she told reporters after a breaking of fast ceremony here tonight.
Noraini, who is also the Plantation and Commodities Minister, said this when asked to comment on the Wanita UMNO wing’s acceptance of Rumah Bangsa.
She admitted that there had been discussions and initial applications from former Wanita UMNO members to rejoin the party’s struggle.
However, she said the matter was still in the early stages of consideration and not yet at a stage where any final decision could be made.
