Vijay Singh Ends More Than Three-Year Title Drought With SAS Championship Victory

NORTH CAROLINA, October 19 2026 Fiji golf legend Vijay Singh ended a title drought of more than three years after winning the SAS Championship on Sunday.

The 63-year-old carded a third consecutive round of three-under-par 69 to finish the tournament at nine-under-par 207.

The victory placed Singh among the oldest players to win a tournament on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.

The three-time major champion defeated South Africa’s Ernie Els by two strokes. Els also carded a final-round 69 to finish second at seven-under-par.

Defending champion Alex Cejka of Germany and Tag Ridings shared third place at six-under-par.

After sharing the lead at the end of the second round, Singh moved ahead with a birdie on the 10th hole before extending his advantage with another birdie on the 12th.

Despite cold and windy conditions, Singh maintained his composure to secure his sixth title on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.

“I’m happy with this win. Hopefully, it gives me confidence for the next few tournaments and next season,” Singh said.

He acknowledged that he had recently refocused on training after struggling to maintain consistent form throughout the 2026 season.

The victory marked Singh’s first title since winning the Ally Challenge in August 2023.
