HULU TERENGGANU, July 24 — UMNO Vice-President and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Diraja Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has called on party members to strengthen UMNO’s grassroots machinery and organisational efforts as part of preparations for future elections.
Speaking while officiating the Hulu Terengganu UMNO Division Delegates’ Meeting at the ABM Jenagor training centre on Friday morning, Wan Rosdy said a strong grassroots network remains one of the party’s most important strategies in facing an increasingly challenging political landscape.
The event was also attended by Hulu Terengganu UMNO Division chief Datuk Rozi Mamat, who is also the Terengganu UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, along with the division’s leadership.
In his address, Wan Rosdy said Malaysia’s political landscape has become more complex and continues to evolve, requiring UMNO members to adopt new approaches in engaging the public, particularly younger voters.
He stressed that the party must remain responsive to changing political dynamics to ensure it continues to stay relevant and earn the confidence of the people.
Wan Rosdy expressed confidence that close cooperation among party members at every level, combined with a well-prepared grassroots machinery, would help UMNO regain its strength in Terengganu in the next election.
He said unity within the party and continuous engagement with the grassroots would be key to rebuilding support and positioning UMNO for future electoral success.
