Woman Pays RM15 to Illegal Parking Attendant, Still Receives DBKL Summons

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 2026– A woman has expressed her frustration after paying RM15 to an illegal parking attendant in the Changkat area of Kuala Lumpur, only to later receive a parking summons from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

In a post on Threads, the woman claimed she felt compelled to pay the fee out of fear that her vehicle might be vandalised if she refused. She alleged that the illegal parking attendant was operating without any valid permit while collecting parking fees in the area.

However, upon returning to her vehicle, she discovered a DBKL parking summons placed on her windscreen.

The incident has raised questions about how illegal parking syndicates are able to operate openly despite motorists paying them and still being penalised by the authorities. The case has also sparked discussion on social media, with many users calling for stricter enforcement against illegal parking attendants operating in the capital.
