[11 March 2025] – Island Shangri-La is delighted to announce the launch of its latest family-focused programme – the Questers Family Adventure, which invites curious young explorers to learn, discover and unlock the secrets behind Hong Kong’s traditions.
The Questers Family Adventure is set against the backdrop of Island Shangri-La award-wining Family Floor, which is dedicated to families and has set a benchmark for luxury stays centred on togetherness, imagination and ease. Home to 21 thoughtfully designed themed rooms and suites, the Family Floor combines style and comfort with seamless family-friendly touches, complemented by exclusive services such as The Hangout, a welcoming living-dining-play space, and The Pantry, stocked with practical child-related appliances to simplify travel with little ones
The Questers Family Adventure offers a two-night stay in the family-themed rooms and suites, focused on fun for everyone. For parents, package also comes with HK$1,000 hotel credit usable across Island Shangri-La’s luxurious amenities, including at any of the hotel’s restaurants, to the nature-inspired YUN WELLNESS for a peaceful poolside afternoon in a private Cabana or at any of the tranquil wellness rooms at the urban oasis.
Day 1 – Discovery
On arrival guests head to the 45th floor lobby landing which is transformed into a playful Hong Kong train station, complete with a moving model train. Children can enjoy afternoon snacks at The Hangout, a lively living, dining, and play room with panoramic views of The Peak stocked with meals, snacks and drinks. The little adventurers will also receive a themed activity book filled with tasks and puzzles encouraging exploration of the space which they can complete to earn a surprise gift.
After check-in children get to express some creativity in a 60-minute Arts & Craft Workshop located at The Hangout followed by a grab-and-go ice cream before exploring their themed suite.
Day 2 – Adventure Awaits
Start the day with a food exploration at Café Too from local Dim Sum to the Cha Chen Teng bakery and other international delicacies.
In a private in-room workshop, children can then craft and create their very own Hong Kong Travel Journal to hold special Polaroid film memories captured throughout their stay, followed by an interactive storytelling session. With the neighbouring Hong Kong Park located only a short distance away, find an adventurous sense of spirit and uncover the stories hidden amongst Island Shangri-La’s luscious surroundings, including the storied Banyan Tree and scenic viewpoints of the iconic cityscape. A morning of exploration is followed by a private Tea Masterclass where guests learn about long-time traditions of Chinese tea with a Tea Master at Ming Pavilion. Parents and children get the chance to make their own special tea blends and enjoy a curated pairing with signature Fujian snacks and are presented a certificate of completion of the masterclass.
Day 3 – The Final Expedition
After breakfast guests can head to WATERPLAY, the property’s vibrant playground on water, designed for junior explorers to splash in the paddling pool, and enjoy the splash park set with water jets, water tunnels, blooming floral spouts, and an interactive Whack-a-Mole wall for endless fun. Little explorers can then head to The Hangout for the last arts and crafts creative workshop and snacks to go. On check-out there is one final surprise, little ones can take their completed activity book to the concierge to receive a special gift for their exploration efforts!
Island Shangri-La’s Family Floor
Island Shangri-La’s Family Floor features thoughtful family services and amenities that recreate the comforts of home, as well as The Hangout stocked with child friendly meals and snacks, there is also The Pantry, fitted with washing machine and tumble dryer, a wash basin, microwave, buggies to borrow and other essentials for added convenience for travelling parents.
As for guest rooms, each one tells a unique story of its own. The Family Floor seamlessly combines learning and discovery for children aged between 5 and 10, with themed guest rooms hand-painted by local artists and hidden with secret motifs revealed only under a special UV torch. Weave through the corridors that lead to 10 imaginative suites, including the Hong Kong Wonders, Safari Adventure, and Underwater Treasure for two-bedroom family suites, and the unique Airship Voyage and Fairy Garden for three-bedroom family suites, where each comes with a slide, interactive sounds and lights, playful toys, and costumes to spark imaginations.
