SHAH ALAM, July 23 — The Selangor government has opened a new application phase for the MamaKerja Incentive, a financial assistance programme aimed at supporting working mothers in the state, with 10,000 eligible recipients expected to receive a one-off payment of RM1,000 each.
The initiative, administered through the Nine application platform, has seen its total allocation increased to RM10 million to provide greater support for women balancing employment and childcare responsibilities.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme reflects the state government’s commitment to helping working mothers, particularly those facing financial pressures while managing family commitments.
“10,000 working mothers will receive RM1,000 each through MamaKerja, with a total allocation of RM10 million,” he said.
Since its launch, the MamaKerja Incentive has benefited 3,850 working mothers out of 5,595 applicants, providing financial assistance to eligible families across Selangor.
The programme is open to working mothers who meet the eligibility criteria, including having up to three children below 12 years old and a household income not exceeding RM8,000 per month.
Applications for the latest phase will be available from August through the Nine application, allowing applicants to submit requests online, check application status and receive updates through the digital platform.
The Selangor government said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection measures and empower women’s participation in the workforce while easing household financial burdens.
Eligible applicants can obtain further information through the Pusat Informasi Negeri Selangor (PINS) official platform.
