PUTRAJAYA, JULY 23 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Japan following a courtesy meeting with The Genron NPO President Yasushi Kudo.
Anwar said the meeting continued discussions on enhancing the Asia Leaders Roundtable as a strategic platform for dialogue to address regional and global challenges while further strengthening Malaysia-Japan relations.
The Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to the Japanese Government for the warm hospitality extended during his official visit to Japan in June, describing the bilateral relationship as one of Malaysia’s most important strategic and economic partnerships.
He noted that Malaysia highly values its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan, which continues to play a significant role in promoting economic cooperation and regional engagement.
During the meeting, Anwar also thanked Kudo for inviting him to deliver a video message at the Tokyo Conference 2026 and expressed his appreciation for the invitation to attend the Tokyo Conference 2027.
He voiced hope that the close ties between Malaysia and Japan, together with continued collaboration with The Genron NPO, would further contribute to regional peace, stability and shared prosperity.
