ARAU, August 1 2026 — The Perlis Information Department (JAPEN) is intensifying the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) campaign to foster patriotism among the people of the state while further enlivening the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 (HKHM 2026) celebrations.
State Information director Aidatul Shima Che Hassan said one of the approaches to strengthen the campaign is by mobilising all 45 MADANI Communities across the state to actively organise various nation-building programmes.
She said the department has also taken the initiative to display the Jalur Gemilang throughout Bangunan Tun Haji Abdul Razak in Kangar, while using PERLISfm and the department’s social media platforms to promote the campaign.
“I call on everyone in Perlis, if we truly love our country, to ensure that the Jalur Gemilang is displayed properly. If the flag is worn out, replace it with a new one.
“Let us fly the Jalur Gemilang at our homes, on buildings, at government and private sector premises, as well as on our vehicles,” she told reporters after officiating the state-level Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) X JAPEN Arena Penggerak Komuniti (JAGO) 2026 programme at Kampung Pauh Setia here today.
Aidatul Shima said Perlis is the first state to launch the KMJG programme this year.
Earlier, in her speech, she said the campaign is being further intensified to ensure more holistic community participation.
She added that the campaign serves as a meaningful platform for Malaysians to collectively express their pride in the harmony of their beloved nation.
Meanwhile, she said the agencies participating in the convoy comprised the Perlis Federal Development Office, Perlis Broadcasting Department, the Perlis office of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Pos Malaysia and the Perlis Civil Defence Force, with the cooperation of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Perlis contingent.
On July 19, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2026 campaign in conjunction with the HKHM 2026 celebrations, themed ‘Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati’ (Malaysia MADANI: Shared Prosperity), in Perak.
