Agoda and GSTC Expand Sustainable Tourism Academy to South Korea with Korean Language Support

SEOUL, August 5 — Digital travel platform Agoda and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) have expanded the Sustainable Tourism Academy to South Korea with full Korean language support, marking the programme’s first anniversary.

The academy has surpassed 3,000 registered users and has trained more than 3,500 hospitality professionals through digital and in-person programmes, helping the industry adopt sustainable tourism practices based on the GSTC Hotel Standard.

GSTC Chief Assurance Officer Dr. Mihee Kang said the expansion would equip South Korean hospitality professionals with the knowledge needed to strengthen the country’s position as a leading global tourism destination through sustainable practices.

Agoda Korea Country Director Alex Park said providing Korean-language access reflects the company’s commitment to supporting local tourism partners and promoting long-term, sustainable industry growth.

The Sustainable Tourism Academy is now available in seven languages: English, Vietnamese, Malay, Thai, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean. Among its most popular courses are GSTC Standards & Performance Indicators, GSTC Certification, and Developing a Sustainable Policy and Strategy.
