KUALA LUMPUR, September 22 2026, Residents of an apartment complex in Bandar Damai Perdana, Cheras, were ordered to evacuate their homes tonight following a landslide near the building, believed to have been triggered by an underground water leak.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the on-site operations commander instructed residents near Block A to leave the building as a precautionary measure.
He said the department received an emergency call at 9.03 pm, prompting the deployment of five personnel and a fire engine from the Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Fire and Rescue Station.
The team arrived eight minutes later and found a landslide involving a 4.57-metre-high slope, with soil movement extending about 0.91 metre into the affected area.
Ashrul Riezal said water was still flowing at the site, although no further soil movement had been detected.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the soil condition and water flow, while the Public Works Department has been informed for further action.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
