HANGZHOU, September 23 2026, Pakatan Harapan (PH) has yet to decide on the form of political cooperation for the upcoming Melaka state election, said PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said he had tasked PH Election Director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari with holding discussions on the matter.
Anwar, who is also PKR president, said PH should remain open to discussions with other parties, adding that political cooperation should be decided by the PH Election Committee.
He also confirmed that discussions had been held with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), but no decision had been reached.
“I leave it to the committee. I am focusing on running the country,” he said while speaking to Malaysian media aboard a high-speed train to Hangzhou during his working visit to China.
The Melaka Legislative Assembly was officially dissolved today, paving the way for the 16th Melaka state election.
The Election Commission said yesterday it had received official notification of the dissolution and would announce the dates for a special meeting to determine the key dates for the state election.
