PUTRAJAYA, October 11 2026 ,The government’s financial assistance payments under Budget 2027 are a gesture of appreciation for Malaysians and their contributions to the country’s development over seven decades of independence, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the assistance coincided with Malaysia’s 70th independence anniversary in 2027, highlighting the importance of ensuring that national progress benefits the people.
Under Budget 2027, the government will provide RM1,500 in Special Financial Assistance (BKK) to 1.3 million civil servants in Grade Utama B and below, including contract employees.
More than one million government pensioners and veterans, whether receiving pensions or not, will also receive RM750 each.
The BKK payments will be distributed in two instalments, one before Aidilfitri and another ahead of the 70th anniversary of independence.
Meanwhile, Malaysians aged 18 and above who do not receive Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will receive RM100 per payment under SARA MADANI, with two payments scheduled.
Anwar said the seven decades of independence represented a gift to the people, reflecting the nation’s journey and the contributions of its citizens.
Budget 2027, themed “Reaching for the Sky, Rooted in the Ground”, allocates RM459.8 billion in government spending. Including additional investments and allocations from government-linked investment companies, public-private investments, federal statutory bodies and MOF Incorporated companies, the total reaches RM510 billion.
The fifth MADANI Budget aims to translate economic growth into tangible benefits through improved wages, targeted assistance, fiscal discipline and a transition towards higher-value industries.
