ALOR GAJAH, October 11 2026, Pakatan Harapan (PH) will announce its candidates for the upcoming Melaka state election on Oct 18, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expected to lead the announcement.
Anwar’s political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, said the venue would be disclosed later.
Speaking after the Jalinan MADANI Rider Jelajah Melaka programme, Azman also addressed speculation about his possible candidacy in Paya Rumput, saying the decision would be left to the party leadership.
He added that PKR was targeting seven to eight seats, including Machap Jaya and Rembia.
The Election Commission has scheduled nominations for Oct 31, early voting for Nov 10 and polling for Nov 14, following the dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly on Sept 23.
In the 2021 state election, Barisan Nasional won 21 of the 28 seats, while PH secured five and Perikatan Nasional won two.
