Police Locate Suspected BYD Seal Driver After Jalan Kuching Crash Kills Five-Year-Old Girl

KUALA LUMPUR, October 12 2026, Police have located the driver of a BYD Seal allegedly involved in a six-vehicle accident along Jalan Kuching that claimed the life of a five-year-old girl on Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the 24-year-old man is receiving treatment for a concussion at a private hospital in Damansara and is under police supervision.

Preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred at 3.44 pm amid slow-moving traffic, when the BYD Seal allegedly struck a Perodua Bezza driven by the victim’s father from behind.

The impact reportedly caused the Bezza to spin into the right lane and collide with a Nissan Almera, Toyota Alphard and Perodua Myvi. A motorcycle was also involved in the incident.

The girl, who was seated in the rear passenger seat of the Bezza, sustained severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

Her 30-year-old father suffered an injury to his right hand, while a 33-year-old motorcyclist sustained a head injury. Both are receiving treatment at HKL.

The drivers of the other three cars escaped without injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police have urged witnesses to contact the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or report to any nearby police station.
