Artificial intelligence tools supporting writers and artists while preserving human creative control.

Artprice Says AI Can Help Protect Authors’ Creative Freedom

PARIS, Oct 26 2026 Artprice by Artmarket has called for greater recognition of authors’ creative freedom as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more widely used in writing and the arts.

The company argues that AI can help writers and artists develop ideas, conduct research and improve their work. However, it says authors should remain responsible for the final content and decisions.

Thierry Ehrmann, founder and chairman of Artprice by Artmarket, believes AI can give creators more control over how they develop and present their work.

AI Gives Writers More Creative Options

According to Artprice, AI tools can help authors explore different ideas, review drafts and identify weaknesses in their writing. They can also assist with research, comparisons and organising information.

These tools allow writers to revise their work at their own pace. Authors can accept, change or reject AI suggestions while keeping control of the creative direction.

The company also believes AI can help writers develop ideas without depending entirely on a publisher’s decision to accept a manuscript.

However, AI assistance does not remove the need for human judgement. Authors must still check information, assess suggestions and take responsibility for what they publish.

Artprice Highlights Authors’ Independence

Artprice says AI could change how authors work with publishers and other industry professionals.

With more research resources and the ability to prepare several drafts, writers may be better equipped to discuss their work with editors. The company argues that this could give authors greater independence when deciding how their work should be presented.

Ehrmann draws on his experience in publishing, book distribution and the visual arts to support this position. He has also linked the debate to the broader principle of artistic freedom recognised under French law.

AI-Assisted Book Made Available Online

As part of its position, Ehrmann has developed Dialogue Between a Thinker and AI, a book created through an extended dialogue with AI tools.

According to Artprice, Ehrmann directed the project, revised passages and rejected suggestions that did not match his intentions. The company says the process involved using different AI systems for the main writing process and selected research tasks.

The work is available in English and French through dedicated websites. Artprice reported that its unedited manuscript had reached 27.9 million downloads as of Oct 15, 2026, across distribution platforms and syndication channels.

This figure is based on data provided by Artprice and its partners and has not been independently verified by Minutesmy.

Company Calls for a Balanced Approach to AI

Artprice describes its position as a middle path between rejecting AI entirely and accepting its use without question.

The company believes AI can expand creative opportunities while people retain control over meaning, quality and responsibility. It also argues that authors should be transparent about how AI contributes to their work.

The debate over AI-generated content continues to raise questions about originality, disclosure, copyright and the relationship between writers and publishers.

Artprice’s position is that technology should serve the author’s creative purpose, rather than replace the author’s judgement.
