PKR Adds Ayer Limau, Will Contest 10 Seats in Melaka Election

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 2026, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will contest 10 seats in the upcoming Melaka state election after adding Ayer Limau to its list of constituencies.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh announced the change on October 29. The party had previously planned to contest nine seats.

Retired Major Jaimi Dimon will represent PKR in Ayer Limau.

Pakatan Harapan to Contest 22 Seats

The addition brings the number of seats contested by Pakatan Harapan (PH) to 22, up from the 21 announced earlier.

However, the total could change if other parties revise their seat allocations.

Fuziah said PKR had issued its candidate appointment letters on October 28. The party later decided to add Ayer Limau to its lineup.

Fuziah is also the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.

PKR Says Election Preparations Are Ready

Fuziah said she had visited PKR’s main election operations centres in the constituencies the party will contest.

She expressed satisfaction with the teams’ preparations.

These include polling district arrangements, operations centres, data management and logistics.

She added that PKR was ready for nomination day on October 31.

Melaka Election Dates Confirmed

The Melaka State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on September 23, paving the way for the state election.

The Election Commission has set November 14 as polling day. Early voting will take place on November 10, while nomination day is scheduled for October 31.

A total of 687,697 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the election.

The final list of candidates will be confirmed through the official nomination process
