KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 – The Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) signed between the MADANI Government and 13 Members of Parliament is expected to strengthen political stability and support Malaysia’s economic growth.
MADANI Government Backbenchers Club (BBC) chairperson Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa welcomed the agreement, saying it would allow the government to focus on national development and institutional reforms.
She said the agreement would provide greater certainty for the government to carry out its economic plans, including Budget 2027.
CSA to Support Economic Growth and Reforms
Dr Zaliha said political stability was important amid growing challenges in the global economy.
She explained that consistent government policies could help maintain investor confidence and protect the well-being of Malaysians.
The agreement is also expected to support the implementation of approved policies and development plans.
According to Dr Zaliha, political differences should not prevent cooperation when the country’s interests are at stake.
MPs Encouraged to Focus on Their Responsibilities
Dr Zaliha also expressed hope that the agreement would allow all MPs to concentrate on their respective responsibilities.
She said lawmakers should ensure that government policies and approved allocations bring real benefits to the people.
She added that political stability was about more than deciding who governs the country.
It was also about ensuring that Malaysia’s economic progress continues without disruption from political disputes.
Agreement Involves 13 MPs
The CSA was signed between the MADANI Government, six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and seven other lawmakers, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
The agreement is intended to support political stability and ensure continuity in government administration until the end of the current parliamentary term.
It also provides a framework for cooperation on Budget 2027 and institutional reforms.
The development comes as Malaysia continues to focus on economic growth, governance improvements and policies aimed at improving public well-being.
