Foreign Nationals Encouraged to Use Repatriation Programme
Mohmad Khusairi urged foreign nationals who have overstayed or breached their pass conditions to use the voluntary repatriation programme.
Applications can be processed at four Selangor Immigration offices:
- Shah Alam
- Port Klang
- Kelana Jaya
- Kajang
Meanwhile, the department continues to strengthen enforcement through its ongoing Mega Integrated Enforcement Operation, which targets locations suspected of employing or housing undocumented foreign nationals.
242 Foreign Nationals Detained in Latest Operation
In the latest operation, immigration officers screened 321 individuals during raids in Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Klang.
The operation began at 10 pm on Oct 29 and ended early the following morning.
Officers inspected an entertainment centre, two factories and five apartment blocks housing foreign nationals.
A total of 130 personnel took part in the operation. They included 115 Selangor Immigration officers and representatives from the Employees Provident Fund, the Labour Department and the Malaysia Civil Defence Force.
Following the checks, authorities detained 242 foreign nationals aged between 25 and 50.
The suspected offences included failing to produce identification documents, breaching pass conditions and overstaying.
Detainees Held for Further Investigation
The detainees comprised 180 men and 62 women from several countries.
They included nationals from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Pakistan and Laos. Two refugees from Myanmar and one from Cambodia were also among those detained.
All detainees were taken to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for further action.
In addition, the department issued five Form 29 notices to Malaysian nationals suspected of employing foreign workers. The notices require them to assist with the investigation.
Public Asked to Help Report Immigration Offences
Mohmad Khusairi said the department also monitors social media content showing locations where undocumented foreign nationals may be present.
He called on the public to share information and report suspected immigration offences.
He noted that some premises previously raided by enforcement teams had resumed operations. Therefore, public cooperation remains important in supporting continued enforcement efforts.
