KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Intel Corporation will expand its investment in Malaysia with the development of an advanced packaging complex and the strengthening of assembly and testing operations.
The Prime Minister said the matter was discussed during a briefing with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and the company’s leadership team, which also highlighted plans to begin the first phase of the facility, including installation and testing of advanced packaging, later this year.
He said the expansion would also focus on continuous training and upskilling of local talent across the semiconductor value chain to support the creation of high-value jobs.
Anwar added that the MADANI Government remains committed to facilitating quality investments that deliver long-term economic benefits, in line with initiatives such as the National Semiconductor Strategy.
