KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — The long-awaited Gig Workers Act is now nearing enforcement, marking a significant step forward for Malaysia’s gig economy ecosystem.
Today, ministry leadership convened to review detailed preparations and refine key aspects of the Act’s implementation to ensure a smooth, structured, and effective rollout.
The initiative reflects the commitment of the MADANI Government to safeguard the welfare, social protection, and rights of gig workers, in line with the evolving nature of today’s workforce.
Authorities emphasised that the Gig Workers Act is not merely a policy on paper, but a practical measure aimed at delivering meaningful improvements to the lives of gig workers nationwide.
