KUALA LUMPUR: The ownership of the Aurus Senat limousine by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, is described as a special honour that symbolises the close relationship and strong friendship between Malaysia and Russia.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook, Aurus is the official vehicle brand of the country’s highest leadership and is often used by Russian President Vladimir V Putin at official national events and important diplomatic ceremonies.
The model is also rarely owned outside the federation and is not widely exported to international markets.
“Aurus is known for its combination of modern technology and high-class safety features,” the post said.
Earlier, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Agong visited the Special Garage Museum, which houses a collection of more than 50 cars and motorcycles in Moscow on Sunday.
Sultan Ibrahim’s arrival at the Special Garage Museum was welcomed by the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Kirill Alekseevich Lysogorsky; Museum Director, Belikov AV and NAMI CEO, Nazarov FL.
During the visit, His Majesty also consented to be given a briefing on the collection exhibited at the museum.
The handover ceremony of His Majesty’s Aurus Senat Limousine also took place at the museum.
Sultan Ibrahim departed for Moscow last Wednesday at the special invitation of the Russian government as a guest of honour in conjunction with the Victory Day Anniversary celebrations.
