TNB And MHC Sign RM25 Mln Five-year Sponsorship Deal

KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 2026 — Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is providing a RM25 million sponsorship to the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) to strengthen the development of hockey in the country over five years until 2030.

TNB chief executive officer Datuk Shamsul Ahmad said the sponsorship involves RM5 million annually from this year until 2030, reflecting the national utility company’s commitment to supporting the development and success of Malaysian hockey.

“We are allocating nearly RM25 million for development, competitions and assistance to all schools involved.

“We want to see hockey continue to achieve success and be elevated, and we hope that one day we can become world champions,” he said after the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TNB and MHC here today.

Also present was Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.

Meanwhile, MHC president Subahan Kamal expressed appreciation to TNB for its continued support for hockey development.

“Alhamdulillah, I am told that this contract is for five years with a total value of RM25 million, and TNB understands that we require funding.

“We hope this fund will be used in the best possible way to further improve hockey performance and bring more success in the future,” he said.
