SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) has ordered an immediate meeting between the heirs; the management of the Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Kampung Pandan Dalam; the Salatulrahim Welfare Agency (BKS) and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to resolve the issue of alleged delays in the burial of a body, recently.
MAIS chairman Datuk Salehuddin Saidin said the move was to achieve the best solution for all parties involved, as well as to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again in the future.
“MAIS expresses its condolences to the bereaved families involved in the alleged delay in the burial of the body at the Ukay Perdana Islamic Cemetery, Hulu Klang and expresses its sorrow for the incident that occurred to the bereaved families at a time when they lost their loved ones.
“MAIS guarantees that all findings from the police investigation, whether from the aspect of crime, negligence or misunderstanding of communication between the parties involved, will be taken to take appropriate action against any party responsible,” he said in a statement today.
Salehuddin said MAIS took note of the media statement issued by JAIS Director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad last Saturday regarding the results of the initial investigation based on information from the mosque management regarding the incident.
He said MAIS was also informed that the mosque management, the heirs involved and BKS had filed a police report regarding the incident.
In this regard, he advised all parties to give the police space to conduct a transparent and fair investigation.
At the same time, Salehuddin said, MAIS will evaluate the management of Muslim remains currently being carried out by the mosque management and identify if there is room for improvement.
“This is to ensure that the management of Muslim remains can be carried out responsibly and responsibly, in an orderly and efficient manner, and in compliance with Islamic requirements,” he said.
He also advised the Muslim community to continue to strengthen brotherhood and not turn differences of opinion on certain matters into a field of division and hatred.
