PUTRAJAYA, July 16 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on future civil servants to uphold integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that the nation’s future depends on a capable and principled public service.
Speaking during a meeting with Administrative and Diplomatic Service (PTD) cadets currently undergoing the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management Programme, Anwar said the role of a civil servant carries a significant responsibility that extends beyond administrative duties.
He emphasised that public officers must demonstrate integrity, efficiency, the courage to embrace change, and an unwavering commitment to placing the interests of the people and the nation above all else.
According to the Prime Minister, these qualities are essential in ensuring that Malaysia’s public service remains responsive, accountable, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of the country.
Anwar said the future of Malaysia rests on a new generation of leaders and civil servants who are competent, principled, and dedicated to strengthening good governance.
He added that a high-performing public service would play a critical role in advancing Malaysia’s development while promoting fairness, transparency, and shared prosperity in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Government.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the PTD cadets would contribute meaningfully to nation-building by serving with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to improving the lives of all Malaysians.
