KUALA LUMPUR, 2026 — Democratic Action Party (DAP) has officially launched its 60th anniversary celebrations under the theme “Malaysia for Malaysians,” marking a significant milestone in the party’s six-decade political journey.
The celebration aims to reflect on DAP’s long history of struggle while inspiring a new generation to build a more just, inclusive, and prosperous Malaysia.
In a statement, the party noted that its position in 2026 differs markedly from previous decades, as it now serves as part of the federal and state governments. Amid growing global geopolitical and geo-economic challenges, DAP said its role in ensuring national stability has become increasingly important.

During its recent 18th National Party Congress, Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook outlined the party’s aspiration to evolve into a “nation-building” force grounded in the values of Bangsa Malaysia.
In line with this direction, DAP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) adopted “Malaysia for Malaysians” as the official theme for its 60th anniversary.
The party said the theme carries two key messages: reaffirming its founding principles of serving the people—particularly workers, small traders, hawkers, and vulnerable communities—and guiding its members, especially those in government, to uphold these values in nation-building efforts.
As part of the launch, the organising committee also unveiled the official DAP60 logo and a dedicated website to serve as a central platform for updates and historical reflections on the party’s journey.
A series of nationwide programmes has been planned throughout the year, including a commemorative run in Seremban, a national launch event in Bukit Mertajam on April 19, a nationwide roadshow from April to July, and the party’s annual conference in July. Other highlights include a “Democracy Festival” in August and a grand finale celebration in Kuala Lumpur on September 20, 2026.
Additional activities such as political education programmes, youth initiatives, arts and sports events, as well as archival exhibitions will be held across the country throughout the year. Further details will be announced via the official DAP60 platform.
