PUTRAJAYA, July 8 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement, Anwar said he welcomed the UAE’s commitment to further enhancing the close relationship between the two countries, particularly in exploring strategic areas of cooperation that would deliver mutual benefits.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on current geopolitical developments, including the conflict involving the United States and Iran, as well as its implications for the region.
The discussions also covered the growing importance of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the areas of defence and governance.
Anwar said he welcomed the UAE’s experience in equipping government ministers and senior officials with AI training to ensure national leadership remains prepared to adapt to rapid technological advancements.
He said Malaysia would continue to strengthen cooperation with the UAE in areas of mutual interest while contributing to regional dignity, stability and shared prosperity.
