SHAH ALAM: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting eight states, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, until 3 pm today.
In Selangor, the affected districts are Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
MetMalaysia said similar weather conditions are also expected in Penang, Melaka and Pahang, specifically in the Rompin district.
In Kedah, the warning covers Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.
The department added that Kerian and Larut, Matang and Selama in Perak are also expected to experience thunderstorms.
In Negeri Sembilan, the affected districts are Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau and Tampin, while in Johor, thunderstorms are forecast in Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Kluang.
MetMalaysia advised the public to remain alert and follow the latest weather updates and instructions issued by the authorities.
