SEREMBAN, July 17 — A total of 5,455 Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel will cast their ballots as early voters in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) on July 28, making them one of the largest groups of early voters in the election.
Besides exercising their democratic right, the police personnel will also shoulder the responsibility of maintaining security and public order throughout the election period, including during campaigning, early voting, and polling day.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) remains committed to ensuring that every stage of the election is conducted in a peaceful, orderly, and secure environment through the preparedness and professionalism of the country’s security forces.
“KDN will continue to ensure that every election process is carried out in a safe, orderly, and peaceful manner through the readiness and professionalism of our security personnel, in order to preserve national security and maintain public confidence,” he said in a statement.
According to the Election Commission (EC), the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election has a total of 889,490 registered voters, comprising 867,151 ordinary voters, 16,884 military personnel and their spouses, and 5,455 police personnel, who form one of the largest early voting groups.
The key dates for the state election are:
July 18, 2026 – Nomination Day
July 28, 2026 – Early Voting Day
August 1, 2026 – Polling Day
The Ministry of Home Affairs, through the Royal Malaysia Police, reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public safety, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the smooth conduct of the election so that the democratic process can proceed peacefully and transparently.
