SEREMBAN, July 22 – PAS has described the Negeri Sembilan state election as an opportunity to advance its long-standing agenda of Muslim unity, saying the party remains committed to fostering cooperation despite political differences.
In a statement, PAS said it has consistently advocated for unity among Muslims, arguing that differing political views should not become a reason for prolonged division, particularly when the interests of religion, the people and the nation are at stake.
The party said its commitment to unity extends beyond Malaysia, highlighting the international standing of PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, whose views and experience are often sought by Islamic leaders and movements in efforts to promote dialogue and peaceful resolutions to conflicts involving the Muslim world.
According to PAS, its call for unity is not merely an election slogan but is rooted in an approach that prioritises dialogue, diplomacy and consensus over confrontation.
The party said Negeri Sembilan now provides a platform to demonstrate that the agenda of Muslim unity can be translated into practical political cooperation.
PAS noted that political leaders and supporters who once stood on opposing sides are now able to work together and seek common ground for the future of the state.
It added that the effort is not solely about party interests, but about setting aside past differences to build a more stable government, safeguard public interests and preserve harmony in Negeri Sembilan.
Calling on voters to support the spirit of cooperation, PAS said the state’s tradition of consensus reflects the belief that unity remains essential in shaping the country’s future.
