KUALA PILAH: Pakatan Harapan (PH) does not need to rely on the weaknesses of its opponents but rather focus on its own strengths to face this State Election (PRN), said PH Communications Director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. He said the leadership's instructions were clear that the party machinery needed to be strengthened based on its own capabilities without relying on external factors. "The weakness of the enemy does not mean that we are strong. So the directive from the leadership is that the machinery and forces within Pakatan Harapan must be strong themselves. "That is the philosophy we hold and of course we will evaluate the political dynamics from time to time. But the foundation is still Pakatan Harapan," he told reporters after officiating the AI@NADI programme at the Seri Menanti National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI), Kampung Terachi Town Hall, Tanjung Ipoh here today. He said this when asked about PH's confidence in facing this election, especially in Negeri Sembilan, after taking into account the issue of the severance of political ties between Bersatu and PAS. Meanwhile, Fahmi, who is also PKR's Information Chief, said the information team needed to move quickly to ensure that the coalition's message could be conveyed effectively to voters. He said the party machinery needed to campaign well, healthily and based on facts, besides understanding that voters today obtain information through various channels. "Not just through mass media but social media. So they need to have the ability to assist voters who get information not only face to face but on new platforms," he said. The Communications Minister said negotiations on the distribution of PH seats for the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections have been finalised, while now the process of screening candidates is underway. He expects the PH candidate announcement to be made within a short period of time, around a week before nomination day. The Negeri Sembilan State Assembly, which has 36 seats, was officially dissolved by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on June 5 after receiving the consent of the Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. The Election Commission (EC) has set polling day for the Negeri Sembilan state election on August 1, the nomination date on July 18, and early voting on July 28. The 2023 Negeri Sembilan state election saw PH and BN form the state government after controlling 31 out of 36 state assembly seats. PH won 17 seats and BN secured 14 seats while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won five seats.
