Ramanan: Zetrix AI Issue a Matter of Corporate Governance, Not Misappropriation

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22: The issues surrounding Zetrix AI Bhd are related to corporate governance rather than misappropriation, says PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, accusing Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli of sensationalising the matter.

Speaking to reporters after a ministry event here on Thursday, Ramanan described Zetrix as a “double-A company”, drawing comparisons with companies such as MMC and UMW.

“When there is an issue like this, it is not misappropriation. It is a corporate issue, corporate governance. But he wants to sensationalise it,” he said as reported by The Star.

“I am an engineer, he is an engineer too, but let me teach him a little about Zetrix,” he added.

Rafizi, a leader of Bersama, has urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to disclose the number of Zetrix AI shares held by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) and Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd.

He claimed that the three funds could face potential losses of up to RM472 million if they continued to hold the shares when a sell-off began on Aug 28.

Rafizi has vowed to continue pursuing the matter until satisfactory explanations are provided and those involved are investigated.

He cited his previous scrutiny of several high-profile controversies involving 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), Tabung Haji, Felda, Mara and the National Feedlot Corporation as examples of his efforts to hold institutions accountable.
