KUANTAN, October 12 2026, Rantau Panjang Member of Parliament Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff sustained chest and abdominal injuries after the sports utility vehicle (SUV) she was travelling in was involved in an accident along the Central Spine Road (LTU) in Kuala Lipis yesterday evening.
Lipis police chief Supt Ismail Man said the accident occurred at about 6 pm at Kilometre 7 of the highway in Kechau Tui, while Siti Zailah and her 26-year-old daughter were travelling from Gua Musang, Kelantan, to Kuala Lumpur for work.
He said the vehicle was believed to have gone out of control, causing it to spin before crashing into the road barrier on the right.
Siti Zailah was taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for further treatment, while her daughter, who was driving, escaped unharmed.
Ismail also urged members of the public who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist police with the investigation.
