PUTRAJAYA, October 10 2026, The Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) is cooperating with the relevant authorities to investigate video recordings allegedly showing a Muslim participating in a non-Islamic religious ritual.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the department takes seriously the circulation of the videos on social media.
According to Zulkifli, the recordings allegedly depict the individual participating in a ritual involving acts of worship and the use of certain incantations.
He said appropriate action was being taken to facilitate examination and investigation, with any further steps to be determined in accordance with the relevant authorities’ jurisdictions and applicable laws.
Zulkifli stressed that the government remained committed to safeguarding the sanctity of Islam among Muslims and would not tolerate practices proven to deviate from the faith.
However, he emphasised that any action would be guided by verified facts and investigation findings to ensure justice and maintain social harmony.
