SEREMBAN: Consumers in parts of Seremban, Rembau and Port Dickson will face scheduled water supply disruptions from today until Thursday (Sept 24) due to maintenance works at the Sungai Terip and Sawah Raja water treatment plants.
Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS) said the affected areas in Seremban include Senawang, Rasah, Rahang, Ampangan, Seremban 2 and Sikamat.
In Rembau, affected areas include Kampung Kundur Hilir, Taman Akasia Kundur, Exevalley Orchard Park, Pengkalan Durian, Kampung Sungai Radin, Kampung Sungai Timun Dalam and Kampung Sungai Timun Luar.
In Port Dickson, the disruption affects Ladang Tampin Linggi, the entire Linggi area, Pengkalan Kempas and Port Dickson Hospital.
SAINS said maintenance works involve pipe and valve connections, valve replacements and scheduled electrical system servicing.
As of noon today, work at the Sungai Terip plant was 55 per cent complete, while progress at the Sawah Raja plant stood at 35 per cent.
Water supply will be restored in stages after the works are completed. However, high-lying areas and locations at the end of the distribution network may take longer to recover.
SAINS has also prepared water tankers and static tanks as contingency measures if the disruption exceeds 42 hours.
